ICFR Forum: Insurance in a Changing Financial Landscape

The ICFR held a Forum on Insurance Regulation on 25th February, drawing participants from the industry, regulatory bodies, industry associations and academia.

Overview
One of the aims of the forum was to help the ICFR identify key areas for further research. In order to stimulate the debate we posed two broad sets of issues for the forum to consider:
• The future of insurance in the emerging world, the role of insurance as a public policy tool and in promoting growth and financial inclusion.
• The competitive position of the insurance sector versus banks and capital markets, and what role does (and should) insurance play in risk management and transfer in the developed world?
