Regulatory Reform and the Data Conundrum

12 Sep 2012

London, UK

An  Opportunity  to Drive Financial Industry Growth and Innovation

Overview

This one day conference, jointly organised by the International Centre for Financial Regulation (ICFR) and Intellect, will focus on the regulatory reform of data standards and how these changes will affect the industry's infrastructure, business models and competitive landscapes.

Technology has a significant role to play in facilitating change and, simply put, this conference will look beyond 'what' needs to be done to reform the financial system, to 'how' we now need to go about doing it. It will bring together stakeholders from across the UK and wider international financial system – from regulators, banks, clearing houses, academia and the technology industry – all of whom have a role to play in ensuring that the financial system is fit for purpose and that the benefit of data standards initiatives are maximised.

Delegates will hear from a number of industry-leading speakers and debate the impact of some of the broad regulatory initiatives such as living wills, central clearing for derivatives, credit/counterparty/liquidity risk management initiatives, and put that in the context of how banks and clients must address this requisite to transform.
