Annual Summit of the G8 in La Maddalena, Italy

Italy assumed the rotating Presidency of the G8 on 1 January 2009 and will host the 35th Summit on the Sardinian island of La Maddalena from 8-10 July. 

The country holding the G8 Presidency bears responsibilities that include hosting and organizing both the annual Summit and the meetings that pave the way for the three-day Summit.
