The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act, are conducting a joint study on international swaps regulation. Covering swap and clearing house regulation in the US, Asia and Europe, the regulatory bodies are to look for differences in regulatory practices and study how these practices can be harmonised across borders.
