Annual International Regulatory Summit: Postponed

20 Apr 2010

Regulation without Borders - From Principles to Action at The Hilton, Amsterdam: Postponed

Amsterdam, Netherlands

The ICFR Regulatory Summit has been Postponed Due to Air Travel Difficulties.

Message From the ICFR's Chief Operating Officer, Charles Taylor:

After prolonged deliberation I am afraid that we have had to take the decision to postpone the ICFR Annual International Regulatory Summit which was due to be held in Amsterdam on 20 and 21 April 2010.  This stimulating programme and great speaker line up has generated significant  interest and I know that our decision will cause considerable disappointment.

Many of you have made great efforts to try to get to Amsterdam but the unforeseen circumstances have meant that a significant number of our speakers and delegates just cannot get here.  I thank you for your efforts and also apologise that we are postponing this at the last minute but we had held out some hope that the situation might improve over the weekend.

As you can imagine a lot of work has gone in to preparing the Summit sessions by the speakers, panellists and the ICFR.  This will not go to waste.

A full copy of the session bibliographies will be sent to you together with all the other materials that were due to be given to you at the Summit.  We are also planning to use a number of the sessions as content for a series of webinars, papers, mini conferences and roundtables.  Details of these will follow later.

We also hope to be able to rearrange the Summit for later this year.

Finally, thank you once again for your interest in the Summit, your considerable efforts in trying to get here and your continued support of the ICFR and our work on international financial regulation.

If you have any queries, concerns or comments please do not hesitate to contact me at charles.taylor@icffr.org

Summit Programme

In a world of rapidly changing cross-border regulation, it’s vitally important not only to predict future developments, but also to find practical solutions for implementation. The ICFR’s inaugural Annual International Regulatory Summit, taking place this April in Amsterdam, will allow legislators, leading regulators and market participants from around the world to focus collectively on these issues.

Supported by our Founder Members and a select group of sponsors, the event will be an excellent opportunity for discussion, planning and networking at senior level.  It is an important part of the ICFR’s wider mission to bring clarity and a non-partisan perspective to the regulation of global markets.
