What are your areas of expertise?
The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) is a unique self regulatory organisation and an influential voice in setting capital market conventions and standards. ICMA Executive Education offers accreditation and expertise in technical product/markets and operations training for securities and financial industry professionals. Subject experience includes: financial instruments, investment management, risk management, securities operations, regulation and compliance.
What type of training formats do you offer?
ICMA Executive Education provides flexible classroom (in-house and public) and distance learning formats. Through working groups and committees, ICMA listens to financial member firms and offers up-to-date, best practise training programmes relevant to the financial markets industry.
Do you have a global reach in terms of the audiences you provide your courses to?
Reaching a global audience of 350 member firms in over 40 countries, ICMA Executive Education offers courses to a wide international market, aimed at both new graduates to more experienced senior managers. In addition to delivering in-house training all over the world, ICMA has scheduled a number of public courses in at least seven different locations for 2010, including Bahrain, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, London, Luxembourg and Seoul.
How do you ensure the quality and timeliness of your faculty and training contents?
ICMA Executive Education courses are delivered under the academic supervision of the ICMA Centre, University of Reading and its faculty, a team of highly qualified professionals, all with industry experience. Delivering training programmes to market professionals for over three decades, combined with academic expertise gives ICMA a unique advantage in the provision of topical training and accredited qualifications for the financial markets.
Do you use recent technology to deliver some of your training courses?
ICMA Executive Education offers candidates studying: “International Fixed Income & Derivatives (IFID) Certificate” the latest technology from “Wiley Plus” who offer accessible and active learning software, by delivering online, CD-ROM and soft cover book versions of the programme in the one package. Most of the courses, including the IFID, integrate the use of an on-line campus for course preparation via the ICMA Centre “Blackboard” system. Writing exams is also flexible through “Prometric” testing centres found all over the world.
Where do you think training is heading? How do you fit into this trend?
Training clients are requiring shorter, on-demand courses covering more relevant and topical subjects in the financial markets. By listening to member firms and clients, ICMA Executive Education has developed a new range of up-to-date courses. The one to two day training courses include practical case studies to keep clients abreast of current financial market trends.
