Meet our Training Partners: PRMIA

What are your areas of expertise?
In conjunction with its leading Academic Partners, PRMIA seeks to set the international standards for graduate level education in risk management and financial engineering and to offer training and development programs in finance and risk management worldwide.  In addition, individuals in today’s financial climate are taking the initiative to earn professional certifications.  PRMIA’s PRM designation and Associate PRM Certificate provide the personal advancement necessary for one to gain the competitive advantage, ultimately setting them apart from their peers.

What type of training formats do you offer?
PRMIA offers several types of training to best meet the needs of its members. We offer classroom and in-house training, using leading academic instructors and practitioners who are experts in their fields. We also provide over 700 online professional development courses, all of which can be customized to risk professionals’ personal or corporate needs and are available anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Most recently, PRMIA has added Webinars to its mix of training options.

Do you have a global reach in terms of the audiences you provide your courses to?
PRMIA offers training worldwide, electronically through its online courses and Webinars and in the classroom through its open enrollment and in-house classroom training. Courses are typically presented in English and occasionally in the country’s native language. PRMIA’s Complete Course in Risk Management, offered annually in multiple cities globally, continues to grow and experiences waiting lists to attend.  A complete listing of PRMIA’s training opportunities can be found at www.prmia.org

How do you ensure the quality and timeliness of your faculty and training contents?
All of PRMIA’s faculty and training programs pass through the scrutiny and approval of PRMIA’s Academic Advisory Council (AAC). This international council is made up of the most highly experienced and skilled individuals in the risk management industry.

Do you use recent technology to deliver some of your training courses?
While the need for risk management training has significantly increased, organizations are looking for economically responsible options for providing educational opportunities to their staff without sacrificing quality. To meet this growing need, PRMIA has begun offering Webinar training courses. Webinars provide participants global access and a degree of precision to key concepts which are taught by industry leaders.

Where do you think training is heading? How do you fit into this trend?
PRMIA has seen the need for training increase worldwide over the past two years, for both risk management and non-risk management staff. There has been more demand for distance learning opportunities, which PRMIA offers through its online courses and Webinars. Despite this trend, classroom training courses remain the preferred training method for many who find the face-to-face interaction with the course instructor and other participants to be invaluable.  PRMIA continues to offer innovative classroom training worldwide to meet this demand.
